The Academy Cup

Firstly a big thank you to all of you who logged in on Friday night to play the first ever Academy Cup, apologies of you were not able to get a seat- may I suggest in future you follow Nabsy's example and turn up 6 hours early for the next tournament, the online equivelent of putting a towel on a sun lounger!

The competition itself was fierce, the standard incredibly high. Given that we were playing for pride rather than cold hard cash I was delighted to see how seriously everyone took it. The first Academy Champion was Markelby who played a good aggressive game. There was a follow up game right after which was won by Carlbet who having finished the first game in third is now on top of the leader board for points won- it is still very early days however.

Markelby and Carlbets names have now been placed on the Academy Cup table as a reminder to everyone who takes part in the next one who the current champions are - lets see if they can defend their titles.
